The OSSCube MySQL High Availability Tutorial at OSI Days 2010 was fun and success
OSSCube’s internationally renowned team of MySQL Experts - Sonali Minocha and Rakesh Kumar, lead a successful workshop on setting up MySQL High Availability for your MySQL Database servers. Scheduled on the second day of the conference, September 20th, the workshop was jam packed with enthusiastic participants.
Sonali, Asia’s first MySQL certified DBA and an internationally renowned MySQL expert, along with Rakesh walked the participants through setting up MySQL Clusters and Replication models in the hands-on workshop. There was a lot of emphasis on choosing the right high availability database architecture when designing the database, since it would really facilitate upscaling the database in future.
Sonali and Rakesh demonstrated and guided participants with a step-by-step process in the hands-on workshop. They started right from the architecture design mode to installing MySQL and to setting up clusters and the replication model. During the same discussion, they also pointed out the alternative database architectures available to leverage the power of replication and the NDB clusters.
They also walked the participants through the Do’s and Dont’s of setting up High Availability systems, especially what to watch out for - the common fallacies, the easy mistakes.
The workshop received a warm response from the participants, who not only asked enthusiastic questions but also provided tricky scenarios for setting up clusters and replication. Sonali and Rakesh enjoyed answering them and resolving all issues to a satisfactory response from the participants.
At OSSCube, it was a very enriching experience for us to conduct such workshops and we look forward to continue doing the same in the future. The presentation can be accessed below:
